This project was developed for a client as part of his research into fan communities and the anime industry. FANOUS envisions a centralized platform where anime fans can watch shows, track their progress, engage with others, and share content — while also providing a legal channel for fansubbers to publish their work. On the professional side, IP holders, creators, and licensors can explore ongoing fan-led projects and connect with contributors, bridging the gap between the industry and its most passionate audience.
The branding draws from the platform's name: Fanous — an Arabic word for "lantern" — symbolizing both light and gathering. This metaphor extends into the visual identity, with a logo inspired by traditional lanterns and a contrasting, glowing color palette that reflects the passion burning in the hearts of anime fans and creators alike. The design emphasizes warmth, community, and legitimacy, positioning FANOUS as a space that empowers both grassroots creativity and professional collaboration.
